Thanks to so many who have responded to our call for “Compassion in Action” to help save the life of a little boy in desperate need for medical help. His name is Jimmy. We informed his mom help has come from the compassionate hearts of people who answered God’s call. He visited the doctor yesterday and has begun the long journey towards the solution. We have raised the initial amount to help him in the first day! We really don’t have any idea what it will cost in total for his complete healing. He may need multiple operations to help him reach normal function. I’m not going to cap our donations on this need. I trust God knows how much it will cost in total. If we have excess donations we’ll apply those funds to help other children desperately waiting in the hospital for surgery. I encourage you to consider helping ensure a total recovery for Jimmy and others like him.
Yesterday He received temporary colostomy bags from the doctor, and next Friday he will visit the Pediatric Surgeon. His mom lives with an abusive ex husband and she does laundry by hand to earn money to feed her children. Rachel is staying with her teacher until School ends and then we will see how the family is doing. Our friends George and Irene Lwanga are advocating for this family and working with Kirabo Seeds to make sure Jimmy gets the medical care he needs.
My heart is so thankful for the generosity of so many people responded in compassion and love. Remember Jimmy in your prayers. When I am in Uganda working I am often overwhelmed by so much hardship and need. It seems like everyone struggles so hard to just get through one day. It’s easy to get accustomed to this normal condition. But when a child is suffering and it seems there is no hope, everything in me jumps out of my chair ready for action. I thank you all for feeling the same way. Being able to see God in action through so many people to help a little boy is my definition of AMAZING.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9
