We went to church on Saturday night to see if it was a good fit for our family. I personally loved it because we went to a fantastic worship experience, received an excellent message from the Pastor, and then we went out to dinner to have family time, fun, and discussion. The sermon was about how God knows where we are and He can get us where He wants us to be. The example is how God told Elijah to go to Elisha who was ploughing in the field with two oxen and tell Elisha that he was to be the next prophet. Here Elisha was just working the fields, ploughing along, and then God sends someone to tell him what’s next in his life. Hmmm…
When the proposed mission trip came up in 2009 to go to Uganda, I had no idea why the passion I had to be on that trip was so strong. I just knew I’d be a bulldog if I had to in order to get on that trip.
As it turned out…on that trip I realized adoption was next for our family and orphan care was our cause…then the adoption visit put me in a position to help care for orphans…and I met Phiona…and now we have a non-profit to care for orphans and a company in Uganda to make it happen. I’d say God made it clear when he was ready to put me where he wanted me to be. During that time when I was crazed to be on that mission trip God had come to find me where I was. I heard it loud and clear.
When He tapped on my shoulder to tell me to go to Uganda, I’m glad I looked up and said, “yes Lord.”
