Several days ago there was a terrorist bombing in Kampala, Uganda. I cannot comment on the why and how but I will say I have heard that our people there and their families who are helping us get our adoption moving along are all safe and whole. And of course I had some hair raise in concern about our orphanage, but since the bombings were in the city center in restaurants, it’s highly unlikely these children would be there. Neither were their “Aunties”. All is safe. I have sent out emails to my friends in Kampala to make sure they are safe and I am hoping I won’t have to wait long to be relieved.
I am reminded this is not a world of peace. But peace in my heart is possible because my faith is not in the absence or presence of war and what political people are doing about it, my faith is in God. I trust how he will unfold our story and I will receive each of the developments or setbacks as a gift. I’m not worried. I’m not afraid. That’s super natural stuff. This current event reminds me how much more I need to pray for the people in Uganda. Will you join me?
