It is spring break for the boys this week, and to our delight, Craig also took the week off work! After sleeping in a couple extra hours, we dutifully made our way to the “Application Support Center”. We took the scenic route through China town to find the tiny office tucked into a strip mall. Our tax dollar was hard at work barking at us like we were sheep to be herded. We took our turns having our finger prints registered with the FBI.
I have watched too many old movies and not enough modern tech shows because I was seriously expecting to have my fingers stained black with ink and I wasn’t happy aout that prospect. I wasn’t surprised to find they used a modern scanner rather than ink, I just felt stupid. But please let’s not forget we waited ten weeks to receive our invitation to visit this special place.
My exact print appeared on the computer screen. I never saw it blown up before and it was interesting to know this design is mine alone, a way to identify me. I hope I’m never an innocent bystander of a crime, or the last person to be with a person who is murdered. (again too many movies) Well, now I’m registered with the FBI and so are Craig and Donny.
I do appreciate this careful process so we can be sure not to release a child into the care of something evil. We dutifully flow through the process as it is. There just seems to be so many hoops to jump through. Thank you, everyone who continues to pray for our adoption to move forward. I just can’t wait to introduce you to our little girl. She will thank you with a big grin and a happy hug. I thank God for you every day.
