We had big plans today to whisk baby girl off to the zoo, but she woke up grouchy and clingy. She woke up two.
We know it’s best to set the day’s plays according to what she can handle, rather than what we want to accomplish. There’s always tomorrow.
So, it might be that she is simply going to have our undivided attention at home today as we gradually introduce a few new toys. She’s highly interested in the sink her daddy is assembling for her right now. If this is how she wants to spend her day, we are happy to go at her pace.
Before she goes to sleep, she’ll smear chocolate cup cake all over her face, recognize the birthday song goes with blowing out candles, and it all comes with a day that has new toys in it. And so we set the precedent for years to come. May we be wise in how we proceed to avoid spoiling a child and acting innocent or surprised after the deed is done.

Happy Birthday Kira! You are so beautiful and sweet and I pray that you have a fantastic 2nd birthday celebrating with your family!!
