You must know by now Lucy follows me wherever I go and waits patiently for me to finish doing whatever I’m doing in hopes that it will end in a walk, treat, or car ride for her. She’s not hard to please. Here, however she was slightly distressed because we were separated by garden so I could get the whole picture just right. She knows better than to walk in my gardens. She just doesn’t do it. So in this photo she’s whining a little bit at me to come over to her side.

I’m getting the gardens cleaned up this weekend and looking pretty because next Saturday Donny’s whole youth group (those who are going to Homecoming at Taylor) are coming via bus to our house to have their pictures done here. Can you believe I will be on a plane to Africa when this happens? The moms and my mom all promised me they’ll get the pictures for me. If there is one thing I prefer to do my self it’s take the pictures. Oh well, I know I can’t always have my way.

I would spend all my day working out here if I could. . . these days however, my hands are a little more in the books than in the dirt. When I return from Africa my life will slow down some and I’ll spend the extra hours out here. It really makes me happy to see so much beauty from all my windows even when I can’t get out there as often as I’d like.

Your garden is lovely, I can imagine myself having a quiet cup of coffee there in the morning. When we get there it will be your winter garden. Can’t believe you won’t be there to take Homecomming pictures, I envey your Mom to be in the center of all the fun and activities of the boys. Your committment and eagerness to help the less fortunate is inspiring.
