It’s a simple weekend at home here. Craig has a four day break which the boys are filling with golf and tennis. This leaves me for some girly indulgences, I will let you just imagine my itinerary, and knowing me you’ll guess my picks. We made some big discussion about getting out of town and doing some new things, but when it got around to getting up early and making a real plan everyone picked the old favorites like lazing in the pool, firing up the grill, hitting a small white ball, or a slightly larger yellow one around in sweltering temperatures. We just might go see some fireworks tomorrow but really I know everyone will recall that last year we could see a great display right over the lake in our back yard so why would we venture into the crowds? We are American enough to celebrate our freedoms and that’s the point afterall. We are free to skip the crowds and enjoy a fiery display from the balcony railing.
On a sadder note, Craig’s Aunt Diane past away a few days ago and he is going to Atlanta on Tuesday to join his parents for her funeral. It’s a great loss to Dad LaTorre especially. The family is in our prayers.
To finish with a bit of happy news we can report that Lucy is a therapy dog now! She finished two months of training and has passed. We take her every where in town with us to help her be calm in the presence of new people and accustomed to different places. This has established her with superstar status. Many times now a stranger will approach and proclaim: “Lucy!” The dog lovers in town never hesitate to come by and scratch behind her ears and tell her how good she is and she does her one and only trick for them: she wags without having a tail. Our neighborhood guard at the gate waves and grins deeply as we pass through and it’s not to welcome me but because Lucy is such an impressive and humorous sight riding shotgun.
Cheers! Tonya

Will do with the pix. And more stories to come with her adventures in the nursing home and subsequent hospital visits in her therapy dog work.
